Smoking cessation

If you are ready to quit smoking for good, Skiff Medical Center can help. Our "I Can Quit" smoking cessation program combines peer support, education and lifestyle counseling to help you kick the habit.

How does it work?

The program uses a positive behavior approach that shows you how to become a non-smoker and have fun with a group as you quit together

Will it really help me?

Our graduates are living proof that it does! “I didn't think it was possible for me to quit smoking,” said one graduate. “But two years ago this program turned my whole life around. I now have more energy and I’m getting more out of living.”

Why quit?

For your health – The risk of death from smoking-related cardiovascular disease, lung cancer, emphysema and chronic bronchitis is reduced.

For your budget – Home, health auto and life insurance rates may decrease; add that to the money previously spent on tobacco products, and there will be more spending money in your pocket each month.

For your family – Smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of miscarriage, birth defects, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and stillbirth. Furthermore, environmental tobacco smoke is associated with an increased risk of bronchitis, asthma and pneumonia in children.
